At 9 a.m., enjoy a FREE Bagel Breakfast sponsored and donated by The Brotherhood of Congregation Beth Tikvah in memory of Manny Luttinger. Then, join us at 9:30 a.m. for text study with Rabbi Andrea Weiss, Ph.D. We will study “For You Were Strangers in the Land of Egypt – A Timely Biblical Text.”

In preparation for Passover, we’ll study the theme of the treatment of the stranger. We’ll explore how scholars of different faiths utilize ancient texts to address urgent contemporary issues.

Rabbi Andrea L. Weiss, Ph.D., is the Jack, Joseph & Morton Mandel Provost and Associate Professor of Bible at Hebrew Union College. She is co-editor of American Values, Religious Voices: 100 Days, 100 Letters and associate editor of The Torah: A Women’s Commentary. Her current research focuses on “God in the Biblical Imagination: The Mechanics and Theology of Metaphor.”
