Brotherhood will be holding a dinner and presentation on Jan. 14 highlighting the work of Alfred Tibor. Tibor survived the Holocaust as a young man and, hoping to escape further anti-Semitic persecution, he emigrated from Hungary to the United States in the 1950’s and finally moved to the Columbus area in the 1970’s, where he was able to pursue a career as a sculptor.
Ann Shifflet, Adjunct Instructor at the Columbus College of Art & Design, will present many examples of Tibor’s outdoor sculptures in the area and discuss how his experiences during World War II influenced his work.
Dinner will be catered by Anna’s Greek Cuisine and is $5 for Brotherhood members.
