I am a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn, attended Brooklyn College and then Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, School of Nursing.  I met my husband, Marty, at the hospital when I was a nursing instructor and he a dental intern.  We married one year later, upon his return from Viet Nam.  I was truly a “war bride.”

We settled in Vermont and I became very involved in geriatric nursing.  After ten years in beautiful New England, we arrived in Columbus in 1981 in an old station wagon, with our two sons, Jason and Peter, two dogs, and our cat.  It was during a tornado watch, when we invaded by brother’s home!  That was our introduction to Columbus!

We live in Worthington and upon our arrival became involved in Beth Tikvah, the first year in the new building, 1981.  Both our sons were Bar Mitzvah here.  I joined Sisterhood, and later served as President.  One of my most cherished memories was being asked to serve on the Search Committee which was responsible for bringing our rabbi, Gary Huber, to Beth Tikvah.

As Sisterhood President, I served on the board, and experienced the comraderie, work and responsibility involved in that commitment.

It has been a joy to witness the growth of Beth Tikvah, in its size, diversity of members, educational and social programs.  I look forward to serving our congregation again.
