As the name of the congregation demonstrates, Jews have long placed hope at the center of their worldview. But what is hope, and how is it connected to another well-attested Jewish preoccupation, anxiety? Should we strive to remove anxiety and surround ourselves with hope, or is the connection between the two more complex and surprising? Referring to sources spanning continents and millennia, we will search for some answers.
